This week we pray for the people of Senegal and the Sisters who minister there from the Institut des Souers de Saint Joseph, the Annecy and the Lyon congregations. Their work includes nursery schools, parish work, pastoral work with youth, homecare for the ill, an orphanage, and a house for single mothers. And so we continue to listen to the heart of the world! Here is someone else who is attentive to making the world (and particularly Senegal) a better place: https://edition.cnn.com/2019/11/15/sport/gorgui-dieng-charity-award-nba-sportspeople-spt-intl/index.html

This week we pray for the Sisters of St. Joseph and Associates ministering in Peru. Presently there are 37 Sisters from the congregations of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart, the Carondelet Congregation and the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada (Pembroke). Their ministries include: parish ministry and education, pastoral care, community development, health, governance, advocacy, empowerment of women, spiritual formation and prison ministry We hold in our hearts in a particular way Sister María Choquez and Sister Gloria Muchypiña serving in their home area Chincha Valley. There are also 16 Associates connected with this mission. We are also mindful of the many Canadian sisters who began our missions in Peru, and were graced by Christ’s love radiating in the people.
